Chelsea Reach Agreement with Monaco to Sign Lamine Camara

English club Chelsea has reached an agreement with French club Monaco to sign Senegalese midfielder Lamine Camara during the current summer transfer window, as part of the club's moves to strengthen its ranks before the start of the new season.

Negotiations between the two parties have seen significant progress in recent hours, bringing the deal closer to completion, with its value estimated at around £38.5 million, including add-ons and bonuses related to the agreement.

Chelsea's move to sign Camara comes amid the club's pursuit to reinforce its midfield, especially with the potential departure of Argentine Enzo Fernandez. The "Blues" management believes that the Senegalese player possesses the necessary attributes to compensate for this departure, thanks to his ability to perform defensive duties and contribute offensively.

Camara had moved to Monaco from Metz in the summer of 2024, before quickly establishing himself in the team's starting lineup, benefiting from his physical and technical abilities.

The Senegalese midfielder has also continued his international success, becoming an important player for his national team and participating with them in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, attracting the attention of several European clubs, most notably Chelsea.
