Brentford have officially completed the permanent signing of Senegalese left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf from West Ham United during the current transfer window, with the transfer fee remaining undisclosed.
The 21-year-old defender has signed a five-year contract with Brentford, with the club holding an option to extend the agreement for an additional season.
Diouf joins Brentford after an impressive 2025-2026 campaign with West Ham in the Premier League, where he made 32 appearances and provided five assists.
The Senegal international also gained valuable experience on the international stage, representing his country at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 FIFA World Cup, before embarking on a new chapter in English football with Brentford.
Brentford head coach Keith Andrews expressed his delight at completing the deal, stressing that Diouf fits perfectly with the club’s strategy of signing young players with significant potential for development.
“We’re really pleased to be able to sign Malick. He fits the age profile we’re looking for, and there is still plenty of room for him to develop,” Andrews said.
The Brentford manager also praised Diouf’s first season in English football, noting that he enjoyed a very good campaign with West Ham and possesses several qualities that can add further strength to the team.
