Après l’échec de l’accord pour Camara, Chelsea se tourne vers l’ancien prodige d’Al-Ettifaq

Chelsea continues its moves to strengthen the team's midfield, having placed the Dutch player Georginio Wijnaldum among its options to sign him on a free transfer, after the failure of its latest attempt to sign Senegalese Lamine Camara from Monaco.

According to journalist Santi Aouna, Chelsea has already begun opening communication channels with Wijnaldum in the past few hours, given the team's need to strengthen the midfield after the departure of Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City.

Chelsea has the opportunity to sign the Dutch player despite the closure of the summer transfer window, as Wijnaldum became a free agent after his contract with the Saudi club Al-Ettifaq ended, allowing him to move to any team without being bound by the transfer market closing date.

Chelsea's interest in Wijnaldum came after the failure of the Lamine Camara deal at the last minute, as Monaco withdrew from completing the player's transfer to the London club, halting the deal after Chelsea had relied on it to cover the departure of Enzo Fernandez.

The London club hopes to finalize a new midfield option in the coming period, and Wijnaldum's experience may make him one of the proposed solutions to compensate for the void left by Enzo's departure, pending the outcome of communications between the two parties.
