Manchester City secured an exciting 2-1 victory over Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium in the opening round of the Premier League.
Bournemouth made a strong start and stunned the hosts by taking the lead in the 26th minute through Marcus Tavernier, who finished after a pass from Evanilson to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage at half-time.
Manchester City pushed forward after the break in search of an equalizer and eventually found it in the 85th minute. Rayan Cherki delivered a cross into the box, which Marc Guehi met with a header that deflected off a Bournemouth player before finding the back of the net.
The hosts continued to push for a winner and were rewarded in the first minute of stoppage time, when Josko Gvardiol headed home following another assist from Cherki.
The goal was initially ruled out for offside, but a VAR review confirmed that it was valid, handing Manchester City a dramatic late winner.
The victory gives Manchester City their first three points of the new Premier League season, while Bournemouth begin their campaign with a defeat and remain without a point.
