Barcelona secured a commanding 5-0 victory over Elche in their second-round La Liga fixture of the 2026/27 season.
Barcelona took control from the opening minutes and broke the deadlock in the 15th minute through Raphinha, who calmly converted a penalty to put the Catalan side ahead.
The hosts doubled their advantage in the third minute of stoppage time at the end of the first half, with Karim Adeyemi finishing a brilliant pass from Raphinha to send Barcelona into the break with a 2-0 lead.
Barcelona continued to dominate after the restart, and Raphinha scored his second goal of the night and Barcelona’s third in the 67th minute after receiving an excellent pass from Anthony Gordon.
The Catalan side continued their attacking onslaught, with Fermin Lopez adding a fourth goal in the 71st minute following another assist from Gordon.
Fermin then completed Barcelona’s five-goal haul in the 79th minute, receiving a pass from Xavi Espart before producing an impressive dribble past an Elche defender and finding the back of the net.
The victory gives Barcelona their first three points of the season and moves them into fourth place in the La Liga table, while Elche remain on one point in 15th.
