Al-Qadisiyah Club has agreed to loan Portuguese player Otavio Monteiro, from the first football team, to Al-Rayyan of Qatar for one season, according to Al-Riyadiyah newspaper. This move paves the way for the player's departure from the team's plans during the current season.
Al-Qadisiyah's decision to allow Otavio to leave on loan comes amid his exclusion from the plans of the technical staff led by coach Brendan Rodgers, giving the player a new opportunity to have a different experience in the Qatari league next season.
Otavio, who is 31 years old, joined Al-Qadisiyah in the summer of 2025 from Al-Nassr, after spending two seasons with the Riyadh-based club, during which he played 84 matches in various competitions, scoring 12 goals and assisting 16 goals.
The Portuguese player is expected to begin a new phase of his career with Al-Rayyan, after being excluded from Al-Qadisiyah's plans for the current season. Meanwhile, the Qatari club seeks to benefit from his experience and strengthen its squad before the start of the new season's competitions.
