Barcelona raises its offer to settle the Rodri deal, but clashes with Manchester City’s demands

Barcelona continues its intensive efforts to settle the deal for the Spaniard Rodri, the Manchester City midfielder, after the Catalan club raised its financial offer in a new attempt to reduce the difference with the demands of the English club.

According to what was revealed by journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona has submitted a new verbal offer worth 60 million euros, in addition to additions related to the player’s performance and achieving some goals, in a move that reflects the Catalan club’s seriousness in resolving the deal.

It was Manchester City has rejected the first offer submitted by Barcelona, which amounted to approximately 45 million euros, plus variables, after the English club considered that the financial compensation was not commensurate with the value it set for abandoning the Spanish midfielder.

Manchester City estimates Rodri’s value at approximately 80 million euros, and does not appear ready at the present time to reduce its financial demands, which keeps the negotiations between the two parties open, as Barcelona continues to try to reach an appropriate formula to complete the deal.

Barcelona’s interest comes. Rodri has become one of the management's most prominent targets during the current transfer period, especially after Frenkie de Jong's injury, which prompted the club to intensify its moves to strengthen the midfield.

Barcelona has some factors that may help it complete the deal, most notably Rodri's desire to return to the Spanish League and have a new experience with the Catalan club.

Also, having only one year left until the end of Rodri's contract with Manchester City may be in Barcelona's interest, as the club may prefer the English club. Benefit financially from his departure this summer instead of risking losing him for free next season.

The coming days await new developments in the negotiations, amid Barcelona’s adherence to its desire to include Rodri, while Manchester City insists on obtaining the financial compensation it deems appropriate to give up its Spanish star.
