17e5c6The Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam announced that it has officially signed German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, coming from Barcelona, on loan until the end of the 2026-2027 season, to strengthen its ranks with the experience of one of the most prominent goalkeepers in Europe.
Ter Stegen has a distinguished career at the highest levels, as he began his professional journey with Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he participated in 127 matches over three years. One and a half seasons, before moving to Barcelona in the summer of 2014.
During his career with the Catalan club, the German goalkeeper played 423 matches, and achieved many championships, most notably the Champions League title, in addition to seven titles in the Spanish League, to become one of the most prominent goalkeepers in Barcelona’s history.
Ter Stegen also has great international experience, having defended the colors of the German national team in 44 match, while he spent the second half of last season on loan to Girona, where he played under the leadership of coach Michel Sanchez.
For his part, Ajax sporting director, Jordi Cruyff, expressed his happiness with the completion of the deal, stressing that the club had succeeded in including a goalkeeper with a record of achievements and experience, and he would provide a direct addition to the team from the first moment.
Cruyff added that his relationship with Ter Stegen extends for years, noting that the management Ajax worked for a long time to complete the deal, expressing its happiness with the arrival of the German goalkeeper, and wishing him success in his new career with the Dutch club.
