The Spanish newspaper **"Mundo Deportivo"** revealed the details of the financial agreement between the two parties, explaining that Ajax has reached a special formula related to the German goalkeeper's salary, as the Dutch club's contribution will depend on the number of matches in which he participates. Ter Stegen throughout the season, while Barcelona will bear the bulk of his salary.
The newspaper added that the Ajax management rejected the idea of paying a fixed sum in exchange for loaning the goalkeeper, preferring to link the value of its contribution to the percentage of his actual participations, in a step aimed at reducing the financial risks in the event that the player suffers an injury or is absent from the matches for any other reason.
This approach comes after a previous experience from which the Dutch club learned many lessons, as the Girona club had previously committed to paying a fixed sum of approximately One million euros to obtain the services of Ter Stegen, before the goalkeeper suffered an injury that kept him out of most of the season, and he only participated in two matches.
