USMA Algiers won the Algeria Cup, after defeating its rival CR Belouizdad, 2-1, in the final match held at the Nelson Mandela Stadium, amid a large crowd and an enthusiastic atmosphere.
USMA entered the confrontation strongly, as Draman Kamaghati succeeded in opening the scoring early in the 22nd minute, taking advantage of an opportunity inside the penalty area that gave his team the advantage of advancing.
The team continued its pressure. Attacking during the first half, Ahmed Khaledi increased the score with a second goal in the 43rd minute, after an organized attack, ending the first half with a deserved lead of two goals without a response.
In the second half, CS Belouizdad tried to come back in the match, and succeeded in reducing the difference through Younes Wasi in the 62nd minute, after he scored a goal with a perfect header, but the team’s attempts were not completed in light of the solid defense of USM Al-Capital.
With this victory, USM Al-Capital raised its tally to 10 titles in the Cup. Algeria, to be unique in this achievement, also won the championship for the second season in a row, confirming its dominance over the competition.
After the final whistle, celebrations erupted from the fans of USM Algiers, who expressed their joy at being crowned after a strong and distinguished performance in the final match.
