Liverpool management is considering moving aggressively in the upcoming transfer market, by making a major offer to sign French defender Jules Kounde, a Barcelona player, as the end of the current season approaches.
According to what was reported by the Daily Mail, the English club is preparing to make an offer estimated at approximately 80 million euros, as it seeks to strengthen the right-back position, with the possibility of taking advantage of the player’s capabilities as well in the center of defence.
Liverpool’s interest comes at a time when Barcelona has not decided on its final position regarding the continuation of the transfer market. Kounde, as some reports indicate that there have been internal evaluations of his level during the recent period, in addition to technical discussions related to coach Hansi Flick.
Kunde had joined Barcelona in the summer of 2022, coming for 50 million euros, in addition to 10 million in incentives, to become one of the main elements in the team’s lineup, while his contract includes a huge penalty clause of up to one billion euros after its recent renewal.
According to the report, Barcelona’s management will only consider the idea of selling the player. In the event of receiving an offer close to 80 million euros, which is the number that Liverpool is currently moving towards.
The report also indicated that Kounde’s name has been linked on more than one occasion with a move to the English Premier League, with Liverpool’s renewed interest in including him during the recent period.
