Al-Ittihad Club achieved an important victory away from its home stadium at the expense of Al-Ettifaq FC, with a score of 3-1, in the confrontation that brought together the two teams in the thirty-third round of the Saudi Roshan League.
Al-Ittihad entered the match with clear attacking force from the first minutes, as Houssem Aouar succeeded in opening the scoring early after only two minutes, giving his team a quick advantage that confused the hosts.
The Al-Ittihad team continued its pressure. Attacking, before Moussa Diaby succeeded in scoring the second goal in the 18th minute, after taking advantage of Al-Ittihad’s superiority and control over the course of play during the first half.
Despite the difficult start, Khaled Al-Ghannam was able to reduce the difference in favor of Al-Ittifaq in the 25th minute, to return his team to the atmosphere of the match before the end of the first half, which ended with Al-Ittihad leading 2-1.
With the start of the second half, Al-Ittihad maintained its advantage and field control, and continued its offensive attempts. In search of a third goal that would give him more security in the result.
In the 78th minute, Moussa Diaby returned to his brilliance again after scoring the third goal, signing his personal double, to confirm Al-Ittihad’s superiority and resolve the confrontation in a major way.
With this victory, Al-Ittihad Club strengthened its position in the Saudi Roshan League standings after advancing to fifth place, to continue the strong competition for a qualifying seat in the elite AFC Champions League.
On the other hand, the balance was frozen. Al-Ettifaq FC is at 49 points in seventh place, after losing to a team that appeared more organized and effective throughout the two halves of the match.
