Al Ahly SC achieved an important victory over Al Masry SC with a score of 2-0, in the confrontation that brought together the two teams in the last round of the Egyptian Premier League competitions, but the victory was not enough to guarantee qualification to the African Champions League next season.
Despite the difficult circumstances in which Al-Ahly played the match and the numerical deficiency it suffered during the match, the team succeeded in resolving the confrontation thanks to the brilliance of star Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, who scored both goals of the match and led the “Red Giant” to achieve A valuable victory at the end of its league campaign.
Al-Ahly raised its score to 53 points, ending the season in third place in the ranking table, after the team made a last attempt to maintain its hopes of participating in the Champions League.
But the results of the competitors decided the scene once and for all, after both Zamalek SC and Pyramids FC secured their tickets to the African Champions League after finishing the season in the officially qualified positions.
On the other hand, Al-Ahly’s transfer was confirmed. To participate in the CAF Confederation Cup during the next edition, in a participation that is different from the usual for the Cairo team that has been accustomed to appearing in the Champions League in recent years.
