The ceremony began with honoring the historic coach of the Egyptian national team, Hassan Shehata, who won the “Legend” award, in recognition of his exceptional career and his leadership of the “Pharaohs” to win three consecutive titles in the African Cup of Nations in the years 2006 and 2008. The “Constant Champion” award was also given to the journalist and former international goalkeeper Ahmed Shoubir, in appreciation of his sports and media career, while goalkeeper Sherif Ekramy received a special honorary award, after announcing his retirement from football, bringing down the curtain on a career that spanned more than two decades.
