Konyaspor decides its position on the Imam Ashour deal after the negotiations faltered

The Turkish club Konyaspor announced the faltering of its negotiations with Al-Ahly of Egypt regarding the contract with Emam Ashour during the current summer transfer period, stressing that the deal did not reach a final agreement, so the Turkish club moved to study other options to strengthen its ranks.

Cengiz Yunit, the official spokesman for Konyaspor, explained that the club conducted serious negotiations with Al-Ahly in order to include the Egyptian midfielder, but the talks did not result in an agreement between Both parties.

Younit said in statements reported by the Turkish newspaper Yeni Haber: “Yes, Emam Ashour was one of the options before us, and we conducted serious negotiations, but we were unable to reach an agreement.”

He added: “We did not reach a point of agreement in this deal, but the club’s football management has other options at the present time, and we will continue working to strengthen the team.”

These developments come after Konyaspor’s loss to Riza. Spor in the opening round of the Turkish League competitions, where the official spokesman confirmed that the club is continuing its efforts to strengthen the team’s ranks during the current transfer period.

Younit concluded his statements by emphasizing the desire of the club management to meet the needs of the technical staff as quickly as possible, saying: “We hope to provide the coach as soon as possible with the players he needs, so that he can work with them in the way he wants and prepare for the upcoming matches.”
