Galatasaray have rejected a huge financial offer from Saudi club Al Hilal for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen during the current summer transfer window.
According to Turkish newspaper Milliyet, Al Hilal submitted an offer worth around €130 million, but Galatasaray’s management remained determined to keep their top scorer and turned down the proposal despite its substantial financial value.
Al Hilal’s move comes as part of the club’s efforts to strengthen its attacking options with a major signing, as the Saudi side is keen to bring in a top-class striker capable of adding greater firepower to its frontline next season.
Osimhen has become a key figure at Galatasaray since joining the Turkish club, which has prompted the management to insist on keeping him and reject Al Hilal’s offer.
Despite the initial rejection, Al Hilal could still return with an improved bid as the Saudi club continues its efforts to secure a major attacking signing. However, the club may turn its attention to other targets if Galatasaray maintain their stance.
Osimhen has enjoyed a distinguished career in European football. He began his career with German side Wolfsburg before playing for Belgian club Charleroi and French side Lille, eventually joining Italian giants Napoli in 2020.
The Nigerian striker continued his career with some of Europe’s biggest clubs before moving to Galatasaray, where he has become one of the most prominent names in the current transfer market amid Al Hilal’s growing interest in signing him.
