Al Ahly SC suffered a surprising 2–1 defeat against Tala'ea El Gaish in the match played at Military Academy Stadium as part of the postponed fixtures of Round 15 of the Egyptian Premier League.
Tala'ea El Gaish opened the scoring early in the 4th minute through Mohamed Atef, giving the hosts a quick lead.
Al Ahly responded in the 21st minute when Hady Riyad scored the equalizer after capitalizing on a chance inside the penalty area.
In the second half, Khaled Abu Ziada restored Tala'ea El Gaish’s advantage by scoring the second goal in the 61st minute, securing the victory for his side.
With this result, Tala'ea El Gaish moved up to 22 points in 14th place in the league standings, while Al Ahly remained on 40 points in third place.
Meanwhile, Zamalek SC currently leads the Egyptian Premier League table with 43 points.
